Any good superhero (or Vet in this case) needs a trusted sidekick and that's just what our nurses are here at Brentknoll Veterinary Centre.

Many of our clients say to us 'I didn't want to bother the vet' or say they 'felt silly' asking the Vet certain questions so that's where our Nurses come in. Our Nurse clinics are run by our excellent team of Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs) who are able to offer advice on a wide range of topics and offer services to keep your pet fit and healthy.

Brentknoll Vets - keep your pets healthy and happy

Can I see the Nurse if my pet is unwell?

No, Veterinary Nurses are not allowed to make a clinical diagnosis'. Whilst they are highly trained in many areas and will be able to offer advice on many subjects, if the Nurse suspects a problem your pet will be referred to one of our veterinary surgeons. Because of this, if your pet is unwell or injured, you will need to be booked in with a Vet.

What can I see the nurse for?

Our team off Nurses will be happy to see your pet for the following reasons;

  • Nail trims
  • Anal gland emptying (dogs only)
  • Weight management and dietary advice
  • Dental health (preventative only)
  • New arrivals check ups for puppies and kittens
  • Pre-neutering youth check ups
  • Senior pet well-being check ups
  • Flea and wormer application and prevention
  • Microchipping
  • Post-Operative check ups (routine surgery only)

and more

Making an appointment

vet brentknoll veterinary centre dogAppointments are available 7 days a week subject to nurse rotas and are as always, by appointment only so simply call or use our online booking facility to arrange your preferred slot.

Nurse appointments range from 15 - 30 minutes in length, and are charged at a greatly reduced from the vet consultation fees (prices vary so please ask staff for current price information).

When you see the vet and your pet is unwell, it can sometimes be difficult to fit in everything you wanted to discuss (like food and parasite treatments) into the designated 15 minute time slot. Nurse clinics are a great way to get advice without being restricted by Vet time restraints.

Ask the questions you didn't want to ask the vet and make the most out of the services available at Brentknoll Veterinary Centre
