Recent visitors to the practice may have met our wonderful locum Vet, Maria Isabel Fuentes Beneytez who joins us for the Summer

Bel-vet at worcester-brentknoll vetsMaria Isabel Fuentes Beneytez (or Bel as she likes to be called), is spending the Summer with us here at Brentknoll.

Bel graduated from the University of Murcia, Spain, in 2012, where she obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree. She also went on to gain a Certificate as a Veterinary Acupuncturist (CVA) at Chi Institute of Europe, Spain, in 2014 and the Certificate as a Food Therapist (CVFT) in 2015. Since graduating, Bel worked for a year in a general practice in Spain before moving over to the UK, where she has since been working mostly around the Birmingham and Doncaster areas and she is currently studying for her master degree in accupunture.

She particularly enjoys alternative medicine including accupuncture and holistic therapies, she is particularly interested in how these can be used to treat conditions like osteoarthritis, musculoskeletal and neurological pain and also intervertebral disc disease, weakness in the back legs in old age, lack of stamina, incontinence, seizures, gastrointestinal alterations, anxiety. Her goal is to improve her patient's quality of life and reduce pain through her treatment.

During her time in the UK, Bel has volunteered at Walsall animal rescue shelter, where she used her knowledge of acupuncture to treat rescue rabbits with stiffness of the back legs, urinary incontinence and other general health conditions.

Bel currently is working as a locum vet, which means she works at different veterinary practices so it keeps her very busy. When she's not at work, she fills her free time keeping active and enjoys attending dance fitness classes and swimming. Due to the travelling, she can't have any pets at home as it wouldn't be fair to leave them home alone; but she would love to own some resuce rabbits once she is at home more.

Bel will be with us throughout the Summer months before moving on to her next adventure

Join all the staff at Brentknoll Vets as we say hello to Bel our wonderful visiting Vet
