Whether you've had good or bad experiences in the past with NHS treatment, there's no denying that having a system where medical healthcare is free is something we are very lucky to have. When it comes to treating pets there is no such system, owning an animal is a luxury that comes with associated costs.
For staff working within the veterinary industry, it can be hard to hear accusations of money grabbing vets, over priced treatment and staff not caring about the animals. Vets and nurses dedicate years of their life training and generally everyone in the industry loves animals (that's why we chose this career path). Within all industries, you may come across someone who is an exception to the rule; there are good and bad teachers, builders, hairdressers etc so if you do find a 'bad vet,' please don't tar us all with the same brush.

Thankfully many clients at Brentknoll understand the importance of pet insurance, however there's always pet owners who leave it too late and feel the pinch when the unexpected happens.
Pet insurance companies love to use terms that can make it seem like a minefield, their policies are filled with enough jargon to put anyone off reading the small print (often how people get caught out). If your pet becomes sick or gets injured, the last thing on your mind should be money, so lets help you choose the right policy for you and your pet.

Any good superhero (or Vet in this case) needs a trusted sidekick and that's just what our nurses are here at Brentknoll Veterinary Centre.
Many of our clients say to us 'I didn't want to bother the vet' or say they 'felt silly' asking the Vet certain questions so that's where our Nurses come in. Our Nurse clinics are run by our excellent team of Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs) who are able to offer advice on a wide range of topics and offer services to keep your pet fit and healthy.

Summer holidays are great fun and something we look forward to all year, but don't leave it until last minute to get your pet's sorted if you're planning on taking them along for the ride
The travel of animals from country to country is strictly managed by DEFRA and failure to comply with the rules and regulations outlined by them will mean that your summer holidays could end up being cancelled before they've even begun.
