Cats, are one of the most popular pets in Europe, and were once described as asocial animals, but this is no longer regarded as true. Although very different from dogs, cats also need human interaction and most importantly, your loving attention.

Inspiring the next generation of Vets and Vet Nurses is important to us at Brentknoll Vets... after all, they'll be the ones caring for our pets when we've retired!

Over recent months we have visited several schools and colleges as part of their inspiring futures events.

October the 7th is National Pet Obesity day with our cousins over in the U.S.A. People often associate obesity problems with the States, but we here in the UK aren't far behind, and that goes for our pets too!

Research from the Pet food manufacturers association (PFMA) shows that despite pet obesity being a potentially life-limiting condition, it seems that many pet owners are unaware of the gravity of the issue, in fact 63% of owners felt there were more important problems facing their pets. It seems awareness could be the key to tackling the growing problem, as only one in three pet owners know how to check their pet’s weight, only 9% carry out regular weight checks and worryingly almost a third of pet owners never check their pet’s weight.

After six years of speaking to clients about the previous plan, we realised that pet owners want more choice when it comes to their pet's care. Your feedback was that what suits one owner doesn't necessarily tick all the boxes for another, so we've created a tiered system that allows you to decide what level of cover your pet needs.

It used to be the 5th of November that filled pet owners with dread, but in recent years we've seen the firework season appear in October and last until the end of November. Thus causing endless nights of fear and worry for many of Worcester's Pets.

Every year during the last full week of September, the nation celebrates Deaf Dog Awareness Week. Many dogs are born deaf due to inherited defects and some lose their hearing from injury, illness or old age, this special week is dedicated to raising awareness and knowledge to improve the lives of deaf dogs.

The Brentknoll team hosted a Garden Party at the practice to celebrate the official opening of the long anticipated CT Scanner on Sunday 6th of September

Deputy Mayor Councillor Mike Whitehouse did the honors of cutting the ribbon to officially open the newly renovated CT department. Seen pictured here with Clinical Director Dave Fisher, it was a proud moment for Dave who has worked very hard to make this installation happen. 

Another year is over in a flash for Brentknoll's annual Dog Show and Fun Day

It may have been a rather wet one this year but it was great to see so many waggy tails at this years fundraiser for Guide Dogs for the Blind and so many lovely families enjoying the day, we were impressed with how many were still smiling even in the rain.

This summer the Brentknoll staff have attended several local events in and around Worcestershire

On the 28th of June Client Care Supervisor Jenni Miles, Hydrotherapist Sharon Allen, Referrals Nurse Sarah Algar and Client Care member Rachael Brown spent the day at Power Park in St Peters as part of the St Peters Festival.
