Fireworks are no longer a once a year occurrence, much to the dismay of our nervous pets at home. The popularity of fireworks has seen more and more people holding their own displays at home in their gardens and the close proximity can be a nightmare for animals living nearby.
We often assume that when dogs hump it is sexually driven, this is sometimes the case, but depending on your dogs age and gender it can also be a reaction to excitement or a response to being touched in certain areas of the body that cause arousal.
With major advances in treating serious infectious and other pet diseases, oral disease - most importantly periodontal or gum disease caused by the build-up of plaque and tartar - has become the number-one health problem for dogs.
For a pet owner, approaching the end of your dear friend's life is not something that we like to contemplate. We've found that having a better understanding of the procedure and the options available can help make this difficult time easier.
The annual event brings together animals of all kinds from ferrets to Alpacas and celebrates all things animal. The event is ran by the Cinnamon trust and their wonderful volunteer Janet Morgan, who sadly informed us that this will be her last year as organiser whilst she enjoys retirement from event planning.
We are pleased to welcome "Jenson" who is a future Guide Dog in the making, looking super cute in this photo that was sent to us when he was about 8 weeks of age.
