Grooming your rabbit is an important part of bunny ownership; it helps to keep their coat clean and free from tangles, and it helps your bunny get used to being handled whilst allowing you to give him/her regular checks for changes in their bodies and potential health problems.

Rabbits are generally clean animals and regularly groom themselves, but we still recommend that short haired rabbits are brushed twice weekly and long haired breed daily. We wouldn't recommend bathing your Rabbit but muddy feet and heavily soiled spots can be wiped with a damp cloth.

In the wild, rabbits have lots of space to hop around and it’s important that the accommodation you choose for your rabbit meets it's needs in order to keep him/her happy.  A pet Rabbit is reliant on you it's owner, to provide it with the mental and physical stimulation it requires.

Patch is a 6 year old cocker spaniel who has always been rather lazy. When he first came to Brentknoll at the beginning of his weight loss journey, he weighed over 21kg, several Kilos heavier than his recommended weight; this was a result of his high fat and high calorie diet. He also enjoyed a Pedigree Dentastick each evening before bed, those extra calories were taking their tole and his owners decided to make a change.
Patch's owners had been recommended hydrotherapy at Brentknoll and booked him in with Sharon to help him exercise and lose the unwanted Lbs.

Periodontal disease begins when bacteria in the mouth forms a substance called plaque which sticks to the surface of the teeth, this reacts to minerals in the saliva and hardens to form Tartar. Tartar above the gum line is obvious to most owners, but is not of itself the cause of disease.
